Designing for Spatial Experience — PVR Reality App
Personal Project

Jul 2023
I created an immersive Vision Pro version of the PVR app, reimagining how users can select movies, pick seats, and book tickets in a spatial environment. My starting point? Identify a key moment like seat selection, that could be enhanced through immersion.
I began with sketches and low-fidelity wireframes to get the layout right, mindful of new Vision Pro inputs like eye gaze and hand gestures. I then applied spatial UI principles, placing content in the user’s natural view, using responsive hover states, and optimizing window placement to keep the experience intuitive and anchored in familiar design patterns.
As I moved into mid and high-fidelity design, I pivoted from an impractical 3D seat-booking model to a cleaner, 2D-style interface, maintaining a sense of immersion. I emphasized usability through strategic layout, dynamic feedback, hierarchy cues, and an immersive "See POV" feature, letting users preview their seat perspective with a short movie trailer to aid booking decisions.
